I dream of napping

I dream of napping

In my life, tasks seem to fall into certain priorities:

Things that MUST be done to stay alive,

Things I SHOULD do, but are not vital to survival,

Things that are NICE to have done,

And things that RARELY get done.

Since I generally hit the ground running at about 6:00 am and do not stop until 11pm – Those chores on the RARELY list hardly ever get done. I should not beat myself up. We are all clothed and fed. 95% of the time, there is clean laundry and freshly baked bread. The bathrooms get cleaned weekly, the dishes get done at least twice a day. I brush and floss 4 sets of teeth nightly (not that it seems to do any good). I take my children where they need to go – although more often than not, we are late. I shop the sales, look for bargains, and save money any way I can. And for the past 2 years, I have even held down a part time job, putting in 10 to 20 hours a week during the little kids’ nap times.

BUT

I RARELY do windows.

In trying to get ready for our summer vacation, the children have taken on certain chores. They are earning treats, toys, and privileges to go along with our vacation.

Imagine my chagrin today to find this in my bedroom:

The difference was so stunning to me that I decided,

Perhaps it is time I make windows a higher priority on my list!

That is amazing! Wouldn't that be cool to get such results every time you cleaned? That would be super motivating like magic!
